
PM Modi inaugurates Maruti Suzuki’s ₹35,000 crore mega plant, marking a major milestone in India’s automotive manufacturing sector. The most advanced vehicle manufacturing facility at IMT Kharkhoda, Haryana, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japan’s Prime Minister HE Ms. Sanae Takaichi during the India-Japan Joint Economic Forum via video conferencing. The event underscores the deepening India-Japan partnership and the success of the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
The PM Modi inaugurates Maruti Suzuki’s ₹35,000 crore mega plant as a testament to Suzuki’s commitment to India. At full capacity of one million units per annum, this facility will be among the largest globally and supports the company’s ambition to reach four million units annual production. The projected total investment of INR 35,000 crore is expected to create over 21,000 jobs, boosting local employment and economic growth.
Mr. Toshihiro Suzuki, Representative Director & President, Suzuki Motor Corporation, said, It is a great honor for Suzuki group as its most advanced car manufacturing facility at Kharkhoda has been inaugurated by Hon’ble PM Modi and HE Sanae Takaichi. He highlighted that the plant will scale from half a million to one million units, making it one of the world’s largest car plants. He added that Suzuki’s first Battery Electric Vehicle, the e VITARA, is manufactured exclusively at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant for exports to 100 countries, reflecting the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ vision.
