Kia Carens: 3 lakh sales in India, 60% chose this engine. The Kia Carens family, including ICE and EV models, has crossed the 300,000-unit sales milestone in India. Customers have shown a clear preference for petrol engines, which account for 60% of cumulative sales, followed by diesel at 30% and the EV at 10%. Top variants have also seen strong demand, making up 18% of total sales.
Speaking on the achievement, Mr. Sunhack Park, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, “The 300,000-unit milestone for the Carens underscores its position as a segment leader and a true gamechanger in the MPV space.” He added that the Kia Carens’ success stems from a product-led strategy and deep understanding of customer needs.
The Kia Carens Clavis EV is available in 6- and 7-seat options, with two motor choices: 99kW and 126kW, both delivering 255 Nm torque. Battery options include 51.4 kWh (490 km range) and 42 kWh (404 km range), with fast charging from 10% to 80% in 39 minutes. The ICE version offers three 1.5-litre engines: a 115bhp naturally aspirated petrol, a 160bhp turbo petrol, and a 116bhp diesel. Fuel efficiency stands at 15.34kmpl for NA petrol, 16.66kmpl for turbo petrol, and 19.4kmpl for diesel.
Key features of the Kia Carens include a 12.5-inch touchscreen, all-digital instrument cluster, air purifier, ventilated front seats, 64-color ambient lighting, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, and Level 2 ADAS. The Kia Carens has set a new benchmark in its class, proving that customer-centric innovation drives lasting success.
