Kia Sorento: 4 upcoming hybrid & electric SUVs in India from Kia include the Syros EV, Sorento, Seltos Hybrid, and next-generation Sonet. Kia India is betting big on electrified vehicles and plans to introduce five new electric and hybrid UVs over the next five years. The remaining four models are scheduled to launch by the end of 2027, while the Carnival hybrid is expected by 2029. This lineup signals the brand’s aggressive shift towards cleaner mobility in the Indian market.
The Kia Syros EV is expected to be priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. It will offer two battery pack options: 42kWh and 51.4kWh, delivering ranges up to 420km and 520km respectively. The Syros EV will share its design with the ICE version, with minor EV-specific changes. Meanwhile, the Kia Sorento, a three-row premium SUV, will be the brand’s first hybrid in India. Expected to cost Rs 30 lakh onwards, it will rival the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, and Jeep Meridian.
The Kia Seltos Hybrid, launching in early 2027, is priced between Rs 19 lakh and Rs 25.50 lakh. It will feature a hybridized 1.5L petrol engine, first used in the Sorento, with minimal design changes. The next-generation Kia Sonet, codenamed QY2E, will get comprehensive design upgrades and a new K1 platform. Initially offered with petrol and diesel engines, its hybrid variant is expected in 2028 or 2029, with prices from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 16 lakh.
Kia’s aggressive electrification plan marks a significant step for the Indian SUV market. With the Kia Sorento leading the hybrid charge, customers can expect a range of options from compact to premium SUVs over the next few years. These models promise to combine efficiency with Kia’s hallmark design and features.
