Drug Control Campus Safety Update
DGP CV Anand examined the presentation given by the Eagle team in this meeting. It focuses on designing standard operating procedures for drug control. It has been decided to formulate an effective strategy in coordination with the education and health departments. The main agenda is to set up an anti-drugs committee in every educational institution and make counseling services available. He warned that strict action will be taken against the concerned institutions if the sale or use of drugs is found, and if necessary, there is a possibility of cancellation of recognition.
Students should be made aware about the effects of drugs at the time of admission in schools and colleges. It has been decided to make the services of psychologists and counselors available. Another key aspect is to involve parents in this program and conduct drug awareness programs in collaboration with NGOs. DGP CV Anand said that the aim of the government is to provide a safe, healthy and drug free education environment to every student.
Senior officials including Eagle Director Sandeep Sandilya, IG Padmaja Reddy, SP Giridhar participated in this meeting. It was decided to hold another review meeting before submitting the final proposal to the government. Officials said that such meetings are held regularly. He made it clear that the government will take all efforts to protect the youth from drug addiction.
