Following the massive success of the first season in 2022, the streaming platform has confirmed the release date for the sequel. The show, backed by Pushkar and Gayatri of Vikram Vedha fame, originally starred SJ Suryah and Sanjana. However, for Vadhandhi 2, actor Sasikumar has taken over the lead role, replacing Suryah in this anticipated series.
The second installment of Vadhandhi 2: Prime Video’s crime thriller returns August 7 with a revamped cast. Alongside Sasikumar, the series features Yashwanth, Anagha Maruthora, Aparna Das, Vivek Prasanna, Revathy Sharma, and Arjun Nandhakumar in key roles. The show is directed by Andrew Louis and will stream in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi audio simultaneously, ensuring a wide audience reach.
According to Prime Video, the plot of Vadhandhi 2 follows SI Moosa Raaza, played by Sasikumar, who after a punishment transfer to the barren outskirts of Madurai, resolves a high-profile political cold case. His success, however, may have sent an innocent man to prison for life. To fix his mistake, Raaza must defy the state and navigate a dangerous labyrinth of buried secrets to save an innocent man from an undeserved sentence.
With its intense storyline and strong performances, Vadhandhi 2: Prime Video’s crime thriller returns August 7 to continue the legacy of the original hit. Fans of the series can expect the same gripping narrative and suspenseful twists that made the first season a favorite on the OTT platform.
