Supreme Court Forms Panel To Probe Delhi NEET Protest Police Action

In response to the intense nationwide **NEET protests**, the Supreme Court of India has officially intervened by establishing a high-powered, five-member judicial committee to investigate allegations of heavy-handed police action against student demonstrators.

Judicial Probe Into NEET Protests

The newly formed investigative panel will be spearheaded by retired Supreme Court Justice R Subhash Reddy. The bench aims to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the intense clashes and alleged police brutality that erupted during the July 20 student demonstrations near Parliament and Jantar Mantar.

Alongside Justice Subhash Reddy, the specially constituted committee includes other distinguished legal and investigative professionals, notably featuring a former Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director alongside additional judicial experts tasked with reviewing the use of force.

The apex court’s decisive directive mandates that the panel submit its comprehensive findings directly to the judiciary once the independent fact-finding process concludes, bringing accountability to the forefront of the capital’s ongoing student agitation.
