Nara Lokesh: Andhra Seeks Deeper Korea Ties during his address at the 31st CII Partnership Summit Korea Roadshow in Seoul. The Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics called upon South Korean companies to become long-term partners in the state’s growth journey. He emphasized that the government is ready to write a new chapter in its successful partnership with Korea.
Lokesh stated that the state’s focus is on attracting investments, technology, and employment opportunities through sustained global partnerships. He highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s investor-friendly governance, driven by “Speed of Doing Business,” ensuring faster approvals and efficient project execution. More than 35 Korean companies are already operating in the state, with Kia Motors’ investment in Anantapur transforming the region into a leading automotive manufacturing cluster. LG Electronics has also chosen Sri City for its third manufacturing facility in India.
The minister said Andhra Pradesh is expanding cooperation across sectors like electronics, semiconductor packaging, power electronics, EV components, shipbuilding, and advanced technologies. He emphasized developing complete industrial ecosystems rather than isolated projects. Lokesh expressed confidence that India and South Korea could surpass their $50 billion bilateral trade target by 2030, with Andhra Pradesh playing a key role.
Explaining why Andhra Pradesh is a preferred investment destination, Lokesh highlighted the state’s $190 billion economy, $21 billion annual exports, over 1,000 kilometers of coastline, multiple ports, reliable power, competitive land, and skilled workforce. He invited Korean businesses in semiconductors, automotive, green hydrogen, AI, and advanced manufacturing to explore opportunities. He also encouraged industry leaders to attend the CII Partnership Summit in Andhra Pradesh this November.
Concluding, Lokesh said the first chapter of the partnership was written through automobiles, the second through electronics manufacturing, and the third will be driven by semiconductors, shipbuilding, AI, and clean energy.
