Dyson has expanded its India cordless vacuum lineup with the launch of the V16 Piston Animal, a model priced at Rs 79,900 and positioned as the brand’s most powerful cordless cleaner yet, justifying its billing as a major upgrade for pet-owning households battling stubborn hair and debris.
The launch continues Dyson’s steady push into the premium Indian home-appliance segment, where the company has built a loyal base with earlier cordless models aimed at urban households dealing with dust, allergens and pet fur. The V16 series builds on that lineage while introducing a new bin mechanism the company says is designed specifically around real-world pet-hair complaints from existing customers.
At the core of the new model is a 900W Dyson Hyperdymium motor delivering 315AW of suction, paired with a CleanCompaktor bin that uses a reciprocating, piston-like motion to compress debris, letting it hold up to 30 days of dust before emptying. The All Floor Cones Sense cleaner head uses conical brush bars engineered to resist hair tangling, while the machine offers up to 70 minutes of runtime, 99.99% HEPA filtration for fine particles, and Bluetooth connectivity through the MyDyson app for maintenance alerts.
With the V16 Piston Animal now on sale in India at Rs 79,900, Dyson is clearly targeting buyers willing to pay a premium for longer runtime and lower-maintenance cleaning, especially in multi-pet homes. As competition in the cordless vacuum space intensifies from both domestic and international brands, the launch signals Dyson’s continued bet on flagship-tier pricing backed by incremental engineering improvements rather than a budget push into the mass market.
