In contrast, advanced blood testing raises that accuracy to 91%. For Indian families, this means a reliable diagnosis can start with a routine blood draw at a local clinic, reducing dependence on expensive or invasive procedures like spinal taps or brain scans.

However, this Alzheimer’s blood test is not meant for everyone. Dr. Chafale advises that it is currently recommended only for people already showing signs of memory loss. Conditions like chronic kidney disease can skew the results, so universal screening is not advisable. Those experiencing early cognitive changes should consult a doctor before taking the test.
