Volkswagen Tayron: Life Is Rs 5 Lakh Cheaper Than R-Line. Volkswagen India has introduced a more budget-friendly version of its flagship SUV, the Tayron. Called the Tayron Life, this new variant is priced at Rs 41.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making it nearly Rs 5 lakh more affordable than the sportier Tayron R-Line. While it shares the same engine and many features, it misses out on some sporty design elements.
The Volkswagen Tayron Life comes in seven color options, including Dolphin Gray Metallic and Cipressino Green Metallic. Its design features a radiator grille with an integrated light signature and illuminated Volkswagen emblem, LED headlamps, and body-colored bumpers with a silver front bar. It rides on 18-inch “Bologna” alloy wheels and includes 3D LED rear lights with an illuminated badge.
Inside, the Tayron Life mirrors the R-Line’s cabin but without the ‘R’ badges. Key features include a 15-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, leather steering wheel, 3-zone climate control, and ergoActive front seats with massage and ventilation. Safety is comprehensive with nine airbags, Level 2 ADAS, and hill assist.
The Volkswagen Tayron Life is powered by a 2.0L turbo-petrol engine producing 204bhp and 320Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and 4MOTION all-wheel drive. It keeps the same capable suspension as the R-Line.
With the affordable Tayron Life variant, Volkswagen makes its flagship SUV more accessible without losing core appeal. It offers a compelling blend of luxury, safety, and performance at a lower price point, ideal for families seeking value.
