Mahindra BE 7: Frameless doors and speed testing revealed in new spy images of Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUV. The BE 7 has been spotted testing again near Mahindra’s SUV Proving Track outside Chennai, giving us our best look yet at the production model. Two camouflaged prototypes were seen, each with different patterns, suggesting separate rounds of testing. The BE 7 is expected to sit above the BE 6 in Mahindra’s Electric Origin lineup.

The spy images show the BE 7 retains much of the BE.07 concept’s muscular silhouette, with upright proportions, prominent C-pillars, and squared-off styling. Flush door handles, large alloy wheels, and a roof-mounted rear wiper are visible. The standout feature is frameless doors, a first for a mainstream passenger vehicle in India, typically reserved for premium cars. Temporary lighting units suggest final headlamp and tail-lamp designs are still in development.

Inside, the BE 7 is likely to feature a triple-screen dashboard layout, a redesigned cabin, and sportier seats, though test mules currently use seats similar to the XEV 9e. Built on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, the BE 7 may share powertrains with the BE 6 and XEV range. Expected battery options include 59 kWh and 79 kWh packs, with a claimed range of around 600 km, though real-world figures will be lower.

Mahindra has not announced an official launch date, but industry speculation points to a debut later this year. The BE 7’s frameless doors and robust design position it as a strong contender in the electric SUV market.
