Eetha: Bollywood Film Avoids Toxic Clash. The upcoming Bollywood film Eetha, starring Shraddha Kapoor, is reportedly changing its release date to avoid a box office confrontation with the Yash and Kiara Advani starrer Toxic. Originally scheduled for August 28, 2026, Eetha may now be either preponed or postponed to prevent screen-sharing issues and protect its box office collections.
The decision comes after Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s fantasy thriller The Vvaan was also postponed from the same date to avoid a clash with Toxic. Maddock Films, the production house behind Eetha, is currently evaluating options to reschedule the release. An official announcement regarding Eetha’s new date is expected soon.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, known for Chhaava, Eetha is based on the life of legendary Marathi Tamasha artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar. The film also features Randeep Hooda and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub in key roles. Besides the release date uncertainty, Eetha is facing a title controversy, with members of the NCP and Vithabai Narayangaonkar’s family seeking a change to the film’s title.
As Eetha navigates these challenges, industry observers note that avoiding a clash with Toxic seems a strategic move to maximize audience reach. With a strong cast and a compelling biographical subject, Eetha has potential at the box office once it settles on a favorable release window. Fans can expect clarity in the coming days.
