Even the Parliament website still lists these MPs as Trinamool members, creating ambiguity about the NCPI’s legitimacy. Opposition leaders questioned why the government invited a party not yet recognized by parliamentary records, with Trinamool MP Saugata Roy calling the move “very disturbing.” Deputy Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Pramod Tiwari, described the walkout as a symbolic boycott, highlighting what he called the government’s partisan attitude.
Beyond the NCPI issue, the opposition plans to raise several key issues during the monsoon session, including the Ram temple donations scam, the NEET question paper leak, farmers’ problems, and the increase in ethanol blending in petrol. The Congress party has adopted an aggressive strategy, particularly opposing the redistribution of constituencies. Congress leaders argue that the delimitation process will harm southern states and have vowed to oppose it in any form.
