OM Release Date Hit a Roadblock? Dhanush to Hold Talks with Netflix Officials
The OM release date has hit a roadblock as uncertainty surrounds the film’s launch following the removal of the previously announced October 16, 2026 date from new promotional posters. This omission has sparked speculation about a potential postponement for the Dhanush-starrer, which was originally set to clash with Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 on the same day. Industry sources indicate that the makers are exploring an alternative release window to avoid this high-profile box-office face-off.
The OM release date is not just a scheduling issue, as reports suggest the film’s post-theatrical streaming agreement with Netflix was structured around the original October 16 date. Any change in the OM release date would require both parties to revisit and renegotiate the existing deal. According to the latest buzz, Dhanush and members of the production team are likely to hold talks with Netflix officials in Mumbai to discuss the release and streaming timeline.
If the discussions with Netflix prove successful, the makers are reportedly considering a Diwali 2026 release for OM. However, if the talks fail, the film could stick to its original OM release date and proceed with the box-office clash against Jailer 2. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, OM features a stellar cast including Dhanush, Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela, Indrans, Naseeruddin Shah, and Chaitu Jonnalagadda in key roles.
The film is jointly produced by Wunderbar Films and RTake Studios. The outcome of the negotiations will determine whether OM maintains its original release strategy or moves to a more favorable window. For now, fans await an official confirmation on the OM release date.
