Jana Nayagan: Will fans still watch leaked film? This is the pressing question director H. Vinoth recently addressed during promotions for Vijay’s upcoming action drama. With the entire film leaked online before its official release, the director openly shared his doubts about audience turnout.
During a media interaction, H. Vinoth expressed uncertainty regarding whether people would come to theatres to watch Jana Nayagan again after having seen the leaked version. He stated, “We don’t know whether they’ll come to watch it again or not. They might come just to see Vijay sir.” The director emphasized that this is not merely a commercial film or a TVK or Vijay sir agenda film. Instead, Jana Nayagan tackles sensible and sensitive political issues. He urged fans who have already watched the leak to still support the film in theatres, as it needs to spark discussions about the important topics it raises, calling that the real victory.
On the topic of censorship, Vinoth revealed that the film received an A certificate, a decision they could not contest. Both Vijay and the producer are worried that children will be unable to watch Jana Nayagan in cinemas. This adds another layer of concern for the film’s family audience appeal.
In conclusion, despite the leak and rating challenges, the director remains hopeful that audiences will recognize the film’s deeper message and choose to experience it on the big screen. The ultimate success of Jana Nayagan, he believes, lies in the conversations it generates, not just ticket sales.
