India Women vs South Africa: New T20I Series Added to Tour Schedule. Cricket South Africa (CSA) has officially revised the itinerary for the upcoming visit of the Indian women’s team, introducing a three-match T20I series in addition to the previously confirmed one-off Test and three ODIs. This expansion means the two sides will now compete across all three formats during the tour.
The revised schedule places the one-off Test from December 9 to 12, followed by the ODI series running from December 16 to 22. The newly added T20I matches are slated for December 26 to 30, with venues confirmed in Benoni and Potchefstroom. This extension adds an extra week to India’s stay in South Africa.
CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki explained that the additional fixtures are crucial for preparation. “We are delighted to confirm the revised schedule for India’s tour of South Africa, with the addition of the T20 International series over the festive period, ensuring our Proteas Women have the best possible preparation ahead of the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka,” he stated. Moseki emphasized the value of facing a top-tier side, noting, “India remain one of the strongest teams in world cricket, and the opportunity to compete against them across all three formats will provide invaluable competition.”
This news follows a recent competitive history between the teams. India lost a five-match T20I series in South Africa earlier this year, and the Proteas also defeated them during the T20 World Cup in England, which impacted India’s semifinal chances. The addition of the India Women vs South Africa: New T20I Series ensures both squads gain meaningful match practice ahead of the major ICC event in February. This extended bilateral series promises to be a stern test for both sides.
