Gautam Gambhir: Confused management blasted after 0-4

Gautam Gambhir: Confused management blasted after 0-4. Former India batter Mohammed Kaif launched a scathing attack on the team management following India’s 0-4 T20I series defeat to England. Kaif questioned the handling of young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and senior wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, calling the management “confused” and criticizing their lack of professional decision-making.

England dominated the series after the opening match was washed out. They won the second T20I by chasing India’s 190/7, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi becoming India’s youngest-ever T20I debutant. India suffered a crushing 125-run loss in the third, bowled out for just 76. England sealed the series with a nine-wicket win in Bristol and finished with a 56-run victory in Southampton.

Kaif wrote on X, “Never seen a more confused Indian cricket team management. The handling of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Sanju Samson has been far from professional. One is a generational talent, another a World Cup winner, they need to be given confidence, not doubts in their minds.” Samson was replaced by Sooryavanshi for the second T20I but returned for the fifth, keeping neither player settled.

The defeat marked India’s first four-match losing streak in a bilateral T20I series. England replaced India as the No. 1-ranked T20I side. The two teams now prepare for a three-match ODI series starting July 14. India will look to regroup and respond after a forgettable T20I campaign.
