Cristiano Ronaldo has expanded his business interests into health technology with a reported $7.5 million investment in HBL Pro2col Software, a health and nutrition technology business connected to Herbalife. The deal gives the football star a 10% stake in the company and adds an ownership role to a commercial relationship that has lasted for more than a decade.
The investment is different from a traditional endorsement because Ronaldo now has a direct financial interest in the technology business. The platform is designed around health and lifestyle information and personalised nutrition and wellness plans.
Ronaldo has worked with Herbalife since 2013 and has previously been associated with products including Herbalife24 CR7 Drive. His wider business portfolio has also grown beyond football into fitness, hospitality and other consumer ventures.
