AITUC: Tadicharla-2 Coal Block Movement Gains Momentum as the trade union intensifies its campaign for worker security. The Tadicharla-2 coal block allocation is crucial for the future of Singareni employees, and AITUC leaders have demanded that the central government award it to the company. Association leaders emphasized that securing this block is vital for employment stability.
AITUC President Vasireddy Sitaramaiah and General Secretary Korimi Rajkumar held gate meetings at Kothagudem to rally support. They recalled the union’s 2013 siege of the Secretariat, highlighting their persistent struggle. The leaders stressed that the Tadicharla-2 coal block, along with other remaining blocks, must be given to Singareni to ensure the organization’s survival.
A key decision was made regarding a strike notice. Further discussions are scheduled for the 15th of this month in the presence of the Regional Labour Commissioner. Leaders clarified that if talks fail, a strike in August is inevitable. Additionally, they demanded the immediate payment of 40 percent share from last year’s profits to workers, cancellation of tax on perks, and filling vacant posts in Singareni.
The union also urged the state government to collect Rs. 56 thousand crores and launch new projects. Community leaders praised MLA Koonanneni Sambasivarao for being the only one to raise Singareni issues in the Assembly. This movement is seen as a major step toward achieving the Tadicharla-2 coal block, ensuring a sustainable future for workers.
