The 14th edition of the ICC World Cup 2027 will feature 57 matches and 14 teams across 12 cities, including eight in South Africa, three in Zimbabwe, and Windhoek in Namibia. ICC chairman Jay Shah called the announcement a landmark milestone, emphasizing that the return of the tournament to Africa after 24 years is a significant moment for cricket. The competition format includes a three-stage structure, starting with a Super Series for lower-ranked teams, followed by group stages involving 12 teams split into two groups of six, and culminating in the Super 7, semi-finals, and final. The logo, inspired by the traditional African wire bowl, features colors like Zimbabwe Chilli and Namib Dune, symbolizing the region’s diversity.
