The Hyundai Bayon midsize SUV will be positioned below the Creta and sold alongside it, with an expected unveiling by September and a market launch likely around the 2026 Diwali festive season. The new Hyundai Bayon SUV will be offered with two engine options: a naturally aspirated petrol and a CNG variant, featuring Hyundai’s proven 1.5L engine paired with a manual or CVT automatic gearbox, and a factory-fitted underbody-mounted CNG tank.
The Hyundai Bayon lineup will not receive diesel or hybrid powertrains, as these options will remain exclusive to the next-generation Creta to justify its premium positioning. Measuring around 4.18 meters in length, the Bayon-based SUV is expected to sport a crossover stance with design elements from the Exter and Creta. It will be packed with premium features like a fully digital driver’s display, large touchscreen infotainment, wireless charging, front and rear parking sensors, leatherette upholstery, a rear parking camera, premium audio, and Hyundai BlueLink connected car tech.
