Kia Sorento: two new hybrid SUVs are set to arrive in India by Diwali 2026, offering buyers more options in the growing hybrid segment. Kia India will launch the Sorento premium three-row SUV by October 2026, while the Renault Duster hybrid will arrive in showrooms by November 2026. Here is a quick overview of these upcoming models.
The Kia Sorento hybrid is expected to be priced between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 50 lakh. Select dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the seven-seater SUV. It will offer two powertrain options—a diesel and a strong hybrid. The hybrid version is likely to feature an electrified version of the 1.5L petrol engine, with both manual and automatic gearboxes. The Kia Sorento will be available in six and seven-seat configurations. Premium features include dual 12.3-inch displays, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, powered driver seats, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS.
The Renault Duster hybrid is expected to cost between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 21 lakh. It will use a 1.8L four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with two electric motors—a 49bhp drive motor and a 20bhp generator motor—supported by a 1.4kWh battery pack. The combined output is 109bhp and 172Nm, making it the most powerful vehicle in its segment. It will come with a multi-mode automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The Duster hybrid will feature ‘Hybrid’ badges and a design identical to the ICE version, with a similar interior and feature list.
