Hyundai Creta Electric BaaS: The new Battery-as-a-Service program for the Hyundai Creta Electric cuts its starting price to just Rs 10.99 lakh, making EV ownership more affordable. Introduced by Hyundai, this model allows buyers to purchase the vehicle without the battery and pay a usage fee of Rs 3.90 per kilometer. While the standard Creta Electric costs between Rs 18.03 lakh and Rs 24.70 lakh, the BaaS option reduces the upfront cost by about Rs 7 lakh, though owners will face ongoing charges based on distance driven.
The Hyundai Creta Electric BaaS program separates the battery cost from the vehicle price, lowering the entry barrier for electric cars. Hyundai is the seventh automaker in India to adopt this subscription model, following MG Motor, which first introduced it with the Windsor EV in 2024. Other brands like Citroen, Kia, Maruti Suzuki, and Toyota have also launched similar plans, while Mahindra and VinFast do not yet offer BaaS.
Along with the new Hyundai Creta Electric BaaS pricing, Hyundai has made small equipment updates to the model. The Creta Electric now includes an integrated side step for easier access and offers a 7.4 kW AC wallbox charger with HC variants, replacing the earlier 11 kW charger option. The vehicle remains mechanically unchanged, with two battery choices: a 42 kWh pack offering a 420 km range and 135 HP, and a 51.4 kWh pack providing a 510 km range and 171 HP.
