Hyundai Elantra 2026: Hybrid Power & Bigger Design Unveiled
Hyundai Elantra 2026: the eighth-generation sedan has been officially unveiled at the 2026 Busan Auto Show, bringing hybrid power and a larger, more aggressive design. This new model marks a significant step forward for the popular compact car.
The Hyundai Elantra 2026 is now 55mm longer, 30mm wider, and rides on a 30mm longer wheelbase, measuring 4765mm in length and 1855mm in width. Its exterior adopts Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ language, featuring T-shaped daytime running lights, a split-headlamp setup, flush door handles, and new 18-inch dual-tone alloys. The rear sports T-shaped LED taillights and a sporty diffuser-inspired bumper. Inside, the cabin upgrades include a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, dual wireless charging pads, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system. Advanced ADAS with new safety technologies is also standard.
Under the hood, the Hyundai Elantra 2026 retains its 2.0-liter petrol engine with 149 HP, but the hybrid powertrain is now upgraded to 157 HP – a 16 HP increase. It benefits from an improved transmission, electric motor, and battery, plus smart regenerative braking and predictive hybrid control. A new Stay Mode lets the hybrid run climate control and infotainment without the petrol engine for limited periods, enhancing efficiency.
With its larger footprint, updated technology, and more efficient hybrid system, the Hyundai Elantra 2026 positions itself as a feature-rich successor. It balances modern design with practical advancements, aiming to compete strongly in the compact sedan segment.
