A police procedural crime drama titled Santosh which acquired acclaimed has been denied certification for theatrical launch in India with the Central Board of Movie Certification (CBFC) objecting its depiction of police brutality, caste discrimination, and misogyny.
Written and directed by British-Indian filmmaker Sandhya Suri, Santosh is a few younger widow who joins the police power and investigates the homicide of a Dalit lady. Whereas the theatrical launch didn’t occur in India, Santosh is now set to thrill OTT viewers. The film shall be out there for streaming from October 17 on Lionsgate Play.
We’d like to see what sort of response the film will obtain on OTT. Santosh was premiered on the Cannes Movie Pageant. It was additionally the U.Okay.’s official entry for the Oscars’ worldwide characteristic class, and earned a BAFTA nomination for Greatest Debut Function.
