Global star Ram Charan’s film Game Changer, directed by Shankar and produced by Dil Raju, released in January this year, unfortunately failed to make a significant impact at the box office. The film’s editor recently revealed that the final footage ran for only about two hours, adding to discussions about the movie’s pacing and editing.
During the film’s release period, a pirated version of Game Changer was reportedly aired on a local cable TV channel in Andhra Pradesh and even screened on buses, which caused widespread concern. In the midst of this, a former producer accused Dil Raju of being behind the piracy, claiming he intentionally leaked the movie to generate sympathy and publicity.
Addressing these serious allegations, Dil Raju firmly denied the claims, stating, “The comment made by a former producer is not acceptable.” He rejected the notion that he would resort to such tactics to boost the film’s reception, especially given the massive budget involved.
Dil Raju also faced criticism at the time suggesting that the piracy controversy might have been a publicity stunt to gain audience sympathy. However, the producer clarified the situation and assured that trade bodies are actively working to address piracy issues with the Andhra Pradesh government to prevent such incidents in the future.
Despite the setbacks, Dil Raju remains committed to protecting the industry and hopes for stronger measures against piracy to safeguard films like Game Changer.
