Pawan Kalyan Supports Ticket Price Hike at Game Changer Pre-Release Event
At the pre-release event of Game Changer in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan made strong statements regarding the ongoing debate about ticket prices in the Telugu film industry. His speech, which was both insightful and assertive, emphasized the need for ticket price hikes to accommodate the rising production budgets and growing demand for quality cinema.
Defending the Ticket Price Hike
Pawan Kalyan explained that ticket prices, like any other product, are governed by demand and supply. He backed the producers’ request for a price hike, noting that the increasing budgets of films reflect the higher standards of Telugu cinema, and these adjustments were necessary. He also pointed out that the government benefits from the GST generated from the increased ticket prices, which would contribute to the state’s economy.
He further addressed the misinformation surrounding ticket prices, citing his own film Bheemla Nayak as an example. He claimed that the unfair reduction of ticket prices had negatively impacted the movie’s performance, underlining the need for a fair pricing structure.
Politics and Cinema: A Separate Entity
Pawan Kalyan made it clear that the NDA government holds no prejudice against any film star, despite many not supporting them in elections. He firmly stated that the Andhra Pradesh government does not aim to mix politics with cinema. “No politics should seep into cinema; it should be treated as a separate entity,” he emphasized.
Taking a subtle jibe at certain political parties, Pawan Kalyan pointed out how some parties had sought support from film stars, urging them to meet with folded hands for incentives. He reassured the audience that the NDA government would not resort to low standards and would continue to support the film industry without any political influence.
Acknowledging Chandrababu Naidu’s Support for Tollywood
Pawan Kalyan also took the opportunity to commend former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his unwavering support of the Telugu film industry. He mentioned that Naidu had always respected and supported the development of Tollywood during his four tenures as the Chief Minister.
With his strong words on cinema and politics, Pawan Kalyan made it clear that the government is committed to supporting the growth and prosperity of the Telugu film industry while keeping politics at bay.
