Thandel: Sankranti season is an auspicious time for movie releases. So this year many big budget films are getting ready for Sankranti. Against this backdrop, Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi starrer ‘Tandel’ was also supposed to hit Sankranti but the film team decided to postpone the film to February 7, 2025. There are several strategic reasons behind this decision. Avoiding theater allocation issues, increasing the quality of post-production work, and achieving good results through solo release are thought of by the producers.

Why Thandel avoids Sankranti competition?

Getting out of the Sankranti competition was the first major reason behind this decision. The budget films like ‘Daku Maharaj’, ‘Sankranti Akinam’ and ‘Game Changer’ releasing on Sankranthi are likely to get huge audiences. In this context, Tandel may not get enough screens. If released solo in February, the film’s team is confident that the film will not only garner huge hype, but also get more screens and give a strong performance at the box office.

The time required to complete the post-production work of the film was also a factor in this decision. More attention should be paid to technical quality and visual effects (VFX). UThings got delayed due to location. This gap makes it possible to find time for the pre-release campaign, increase interest in the film through activities like songs and trailer release. The already released songs have received a good response from the audience and the anticipation for the trailer has increased the expectations of the film.
