Vijayasai Reddy, a key political figure, recently resigned from his Rajya Sabha membership, sparking a wave of speculation and political debate. The resignation came with significant comments on his political journey and the reasons behind his decision. Addressing the media, Vijayasai revealed that after the coalition government came into power in Andhra Pradesh, a case was registered against him, linked to the Kakinada port. He also confirmed that lookout notices were issued in his name.
In his statement, Vijayasai shared that he had faced immense pressure from various quarters, with many urging him to become an approver in the case involving YSR Congress Party (YSCP) Chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Despite these pressures, he firmly denied any connection with KV Rao, a key figure in the case, and clarified that he had not sent Vikrant Reddy to meet him. Vijayasai also emphasized that the CID had not summoned him for questioning in the case.
Reflecting on his resignation, Vijayasai stated that his exit from the Rajya Sabha would ultimately benefit the political alliance. He also mentioned that stepping out of politics might weaken him, but he questioned why he would be removed from the cases if he resigned. In a personal note, Vijayasai disclosed owning properties in Bangalore, Vijayawada, and Vizag. He also mentioned reconsidering his decision about launching a news channel, asserting that he had no guarantees for a position in BJP or as a governor.
