Director Meher Ramesh, a recognized figure in the Telugu film industry, has found himself inadvertently caught in a social media storm due to comments made by actress Aditi Shankar, daughter of renowned filmmaker Shankar. Aditi, who is making her Telugu debut with the film Bhairavam, recently recounted an incident in a YouTube interview that has led to Meher Ramesh being playfully (and perhaps unfortunately) referred to as a “bodyguard.”
The incident, as narrated by Aditi Shankar, involved a chance encounter with Superstar Mahesh Babu. Aditi and her sister, being fans of Mahesh Babu, approached him for a selfie. However, Mahesh Babu, who was with his family at the time, politely declined, stating he couldn’t give a selfie while on private family time. Disappointed, the sisters were about to leave when, according to Aditi, Meher Ramesh intervened.
Meher Ramesh reportedly informed Mahesh Babu that the girls were director Shankar’s daughters. Upon learning this, Mahesh Babu, recognizing their lineage, quickly returned to apologize for his initial refusal and then happily posed for a selfie with them. He even complimented Shankar, saying that he should be like him, implying Shankar’s understanding and humility.
The humorous twist, and the reason for the online buzz, came when Aditi Shankar concluded her anecdote by remarking that in that situation, director Meher Ramesh was acting “just like a bodyguard” for Mahesh Babu, noting there was “no difference.” This comment, meant innocently or perhaps as a lighthearted observation, immediately caught the attention of netizens. The video clip of Aditi Shankar’s interview has since gone viral, leading to widespread amusement and a new, albeit unofficial, title for Meher Ramesh.
