Aviation Sector Growth: The Indian Aviation Sector has recorded a fantastic growth in the last decade. As the new Airlines begin, there is growing interest in flight travel among people. However, it is failing to strengthen the Security System in accordance with this rapid development. Staff Shortage has become a major problem, especially in companies that oversee security.
Staff Shortage Threatens Aviation Sector Growth
The central government has revealed that there are thousands of vacancies in DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation), BCAS (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security) and AAI (Airports Authority of India). There are 814 vacancies for 1,692 posts in DGCA, 224 vacancies for 598 posts in BCAS and 9,502 posts for 25,730 posts in AAI. These statistics are not just in magazines, but also direct impact on aviation safety.
Security checks are delayed due to lack of staff for the desired inspectors, technical expers and training simulator observations. Also, the process of granting the Pilot Licenses is also slow. This is a hazardous consequence, because a small accident can occur.
Against this backdrop, the Center needs to undertake URGent Recruitment Drive and fill the vacancies. The words of “importance to security” are to be realized, it is mandatory for the security system. Otherwise, the fast -growing Indian aviation sector is at risk of facing a Safety crisis.
