The Sankranti festival brought a lively atmosphere to the Tollywood box office, with three major films competing for audience attention. While one movie emerged as a blockbuster, another managed to perform decently, and one turned out to be a disaster. The results surprised many, proving that audience preferences can sometimes be unpredictable.
Among the three films, Sankranti Inyamanam was the biggest winner, achieving a 196% box office recovery. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, this family entertainer starring Venkatesh, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Meenakshi Chaudhary received a tremendous response across all centers. The film’s engaging story and emotional appeal made it a perfect festive treat for audiences.
On the other hand, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Daku Maharaj performed moderately well, with an 89% recovery rate. Though the film’s high-octane action sequences impressed fans, it couldn’t secure the Sankranti winner title. Despite its mixed response, the movie had a decent run at the box office, making it an acceptable success.
The biggest disappointment of the festival was Game Changer, directed by Shankar and starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani. With a 42% recovery rate, the film failed to meet expectations and became a double disaster. Despite the hype and massive budget, audiences were unimpressed, leading to a poor box office performance. Sankranti 2025 once again proved that content is king, as a small-budget film triumphed over a star-studded blockbuster.
