Tollywood star heroine Samantha Ruth Prabhu is known not just for her talent but also for her strong presence on social media, where she often engages with fans. While the actress has delivered several blockbusters, she has also turned down a few notable films. Interestingly, some of these rejections turned out to be disasters, while others became major hits.
One such film is ‘Maha Samudram’, starring Sharwanand, Siddharth, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Anu Emmanuel. Directed by Ajay Bhupathi of RX 100 fame, the movie was initially planned with Samantha in the lead. However, she opted out, and Aditi Rao Hydari replaced her. The film turned out to be a massive box-office disaster, proving to be a wise decision on Samantha’s part.
Samantha also missed out on some blockbuster opportunities. She was initially cast in ‘Yevadu’, the hit film starring Ram Charan and Allu Arjun, but stepped back reportedly due to health issues. Another big project she walked away from was Shankar’s ‘I’, starring Vikram, where Amy Jackson eventually took the lead role. Samantha was originally announced as the heroine but later exited the project.
Additionally, in Sukumar’s Pan-India blockbuster ‘Pushpa’, Samantha was reportedly the first choice before Rashmika Mandanna was finalized. Reports suggest that personal reasons, including her divorce, influenced her decision.
Despite these missed chances, Samantha’s career decisions reflect her personal priorities and instincts—some of which worked in her favor.
