Star beauty Alia Bhatt’s latest movie ‘Jigra’ has released in theaters worldwide today amid huge expectations. This movie has created a good buzz in Telugu as well. Let’s find out in this review how much this movie impressed the audience.
Story:
Satyabhama Anand (Alia Bhatt) keeps a watchful eye on her brother Ankur Anand (Vedang Raina). Ankur goes to Malaysia with his cousin Hansi Dao for higher studies. However, unexpectedly, both of them get death penalty in a drug case. Both of them are imprisoned in a high security prison. Alia decides to bring her brother back to India anyway. She meets Bhatia (Manoj Pahwa) in Malaysia. His son is also in jail. An ex-cop named Muthu (Rahul Ravindran) helps both of them. And have they both been released from jail..? What kind of plan did they make for this..? Will Alia bring her brother to India? You have to see this movie.
Plus Points:
Alia Bhatt gave an amazing performance as the older sister who wants to protect her brother. Alia’s expressions in the action scenes in the climax sequence of the movie are impressive.
Vedang Raina does full justice to his role. Manoj Pahwa and Rahul Ravindran impressed with their roles.
Minus Points:
The film ‘Zigra’ will disappoint the audience who are expecting an interesting story. Those who have seen the trailer will understand what the story of the film is. Aspects like pace and emotional bonding in the film seem incomplete. This makes the audience less interested in the movie.
The absence of catchy dialogues and engaging action sequences not only makes the runtime of the film seem too long, but also makes the audience wait to see when the end title card will fall.
Technical Department:
Director Vasan Bala misses the opportunity to present a very engaging story. If Alia Bhatt had a star like Alia Bhatt and had written a more powerful story and planned huge action sequences, the result of this film would have been different. The writing of this film is very weak and the audience will be disappointed.
Swapnil S. Although Sonawane’s cinematography is good, Prerna Saigal’s editing work has damaged the film. Achinth Thacker’s music is also not very impressive. However, the production values look grand. Telugu dubbing work is good.
Verdict:
Overall, ‘Zigra’ is a boring action drama due to lack of interesting elements and deep emotional content. Apart from Alia Bhatt’s performance, there is not much to say about this movie. Those who want to watch a compelling movie better skip this movie.
