Pushpa 2: The Rule has officially claimed the title of the biggest box office hit in Indian cinema, surpassing the monumental success of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 has made history with its remarkable ₹1831 crore worldwide collection in just 32 days, sealing its position as the highest-grossing film of all time in India.
The film’s producers, Mythri Movie Makers, celebrated the achievement with a post on social media, proudly declaring Pushpa 2 as “Indian Cinema’s INDUSTRY HIT with THE HIGHEST EVER COLLECTION FOR A MOVIE IN INDIA.” The movie’s worldwide box office collections reached ₹1707 crore by day 32, with ₹269 crore coming from overseas markets, while its India collection (net) stood at ₹1208.7 crore.
This feat marks a significant milestone for Allu Arjun, as Pushpa 2 breaks the long-standing box office record set by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Prabhas’s Baahubali 2, released in 2017, had earned ₹1788.06 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Indian film at the time. However, Pushpa 2 has now taken the lead, setting new benchmarks for the Indian film industry.
Despite its unprecedented success, the film experienced a slight decline in earnings after its strong opening month. On Day 33, the film’s collections saw a drop of 65.28 percent from its Sunday earnings, recording ₹7.2 crore. Nonetheless, the film’s strong performance throughout December and its multiple record-breaking feats continue to make Pushpa 2 a proud moment for Indian cinema. With a budget of ₹400 crore, the movie has proven to be a wild success, bringing joy to audiences and film enthusiasts alike.
