Megastar Chiranjeevi’s last film Bholaa Shankar, a Telugu remake of Ajith’s Tamil blockbuster Vedalam, ended up as a major flop at the box office. Directed by Meher Ramesh, the film failed to meet audience expectations, both in terms of storytelling and emotional connect. However, in a recent media interaction, senior producer AM Rathnam made a surprising revelation about the film’s original casting plans.

According to AM Rathnam, Power Star Pawan Kalyan was initially the first choice for the Telugu remake of Vedalam. The producer shared that after working on Kushi and Bangaram, they had planned to collaborate again for Vedalam. However, due to Pawan Kalyan’s active political involvement during that time—especially related to elections—the project was put on hold.

Rathnam added that Pawan Kalyan personally asked him to allow his son to handle production duties for Hari Hara Veera Mallu under his banner. He appreciated Pawan’s trust and shared that the young producer is handling the responsibilities efficiently.

Though Bholaa Shankar later went to Chiranjeevi, fans are now speculating what the remake would have looked like with Pawan Kalyan in the lead. Given Pawan’s mass appeal and screen presence, the result might have been drastically different. This revelation has sparked fresh buzz among Tollywood circles and fans alike.
