The upcoming movie Shashtipurthi, produced by MAA AAI Productions, is creating buzz for its unique cast and musical contributions. The film stars Rupesh in the lead role, alongside veteran actor Nata Kireeti Dr. Rajendra Prasad and two-time National Best Actress Award winner Archana, reuniting after 38 years since their classic film Ladies Tailor. Akanksha Singh plays the female lead opposite Rupesh. Directed by Pawan Prabha and produced by Rupesh Chaudhary, the film promises an engaging storyline complemented by extraordinary music.
A significant highlight of the film is the song Edo E Janma Lodo, composed by the legendary Isaigyani Ilayaraja with lyrics penned by Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani. This marks the first collaboration where Keeravani has written lyrics for a song in Ilayaraja’s style (Bani), making it a remarkable milestone. Director Pawan Prabha shared the fascinating story behind this collaboration. Initially, the team approached Keeravani through lyricist Chaitanya Prasad. Keeravani, who happened to be in Chennai at the time, graciously agreed after understanding the context of the song. Impressively, he completed the refrain and one stanza on the same day and the second stanza the following day.
The film features five songs, with some lyrics contributed by Chaitanya Prasad. The team considers it a stroke of luck to have Keeravani, fresh off his Oscar win, contribute to the project. Director Pawan Prabha expressed his excitement, noting that Keeravani’s involvement has elevated the movie’s musical essence.
