In a surprising turn of events, Telangana Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy’s helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing near Kodad in the Suryapet district due to unfavorable weather conditions.
As per the original schedule, the Minister was en route to Huzurnagar Mandal for an official visit. However, continuous rains since the previous evening led to poor visibility and heavy cloud cover, disrupting the helicopter’s path. Although weather conditions had slightly improved by morning, cloud density and low wind cooperation made the aerial route unsafe.
The helicopter pilot, in consultation with the Meteorological Department, decided to land immediately for safety, preventing any potential risk. The landing was executed smoothly in Kodad, around 16 kilometers away from the minister’s intended destination.
After the safe landing, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy proceeded by road to reach Huzurnagar, ensuring his schedule continued with minimal disruption. The incident caused momentary tension among the accompanying team, but everyone breathed a sigh of relief after the safe touchdown.
Authorities have confirmed that the Minister and the crew are safe, and no technical issues were involved — the landing was solely due to weather-related safety concerns. Officials are continuing to monitor weather patterns for any further disruptions to planned events in the region.
