The legal battle between Nayanthara and Dhanush has taken a new turn as the Madras High Court dismissed Netflix and Nayanthara’s plea to quash Dhanush’s copyright infringement case. The dispute arose when Dhanush refused to grant permission to use visuals from his production, ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’, in Nayanthara’s documentary, ‘Beyond The Fairytale’.
Following Dhanush’s objection, he moved the court, filing a copyright infringement petition. In response, Nayanthara also submitted a plea to dismiss the case, but the court has now ruled in favor of Dhanush, allowing the case to proceed. This decision marks a significant setback for Nayanthara and Netflix, who had hoped to use clips from the film without legal hurdles.
Dhanush’s legal team had previously issued a formal statement demanding the removal of unauthorized content from the documentary within 24 hours, warning of legal action and financial damages if the request was not met. His strong stance on the matter indicates his firm stance on protecting his production rights.
Meanwhile, Nayanthara shared a post thanking industry stalwarts like Shah Rukh Khan, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and other producers who granted permission to use footage in her documentary without any objections. However, with the court ruling in Dhanush’s favor, this legal battle seems far from over. Stay tuned for further updates
