Dilip Prakash and Regina Cassandra’s latest movie is ‘Utsavam’ in lead roles. This movie is directed by Arjun Sai. Suresh Patil is producing the film on Hornbill Pictures. Prakash Raj, Nassar, Rajendra Prasad and Brahmanandam are playing key roles. The movie has already created a positive buzz with the teaser and trailer songs. The movie is all set for a grand release in AP, Telangana through Mythri Movie Distributors. The film will hit the screens on September 13. In this context, hero Dilip Prakash shared the features of the film in a press conference.
How did the ‘festival’ begin? Tell us about your journey?
He was interested in movies from his school days. As a child, I used to write and perform plays in school. I have completed my MBA. In between, I got an offer to do a small role in a movie. Later I did a Kannada film called Crazy Boy. I met director Arjun Sai at the success meet of that film. He told the story of ‘Utsavam’ in a journey of six years. It is a very respectable subject, a film that is very proud.
What impressed you about ‘Utsavam’?
A very wonderful story. The story is the hero. Prakash Raj, Nassar, Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam garu and many other wonderful actors. It was a wonderful journey. I learned a lot from all of them.
How was it working with Regina?
Regina Sweet is an actor. Helped a lot. I learned a lot from him. I acted very comfortably.
How is the ‘festival’ going to be?
This is a film about stage artists. There is the spirit of Surabhi Natak Samaj. Movies came from plays. It reminds us of our roots. It also has good family drama and romance. Anup Rubens has given very good music. All the elements that entertain the audience are like a package. There are many great actors in it. Some who watched the movie praised it as “feel good movie, light heart movie”.
How was it working with a senior actor like Prakash Raj?
Sharing the screen with a versatile actor like Prakash Raj is very challenging. I really enjoyed this process. Prakash Raj saw my performance and said ‘good job’ which gave me great joy.
How do you feel about Mythri Movie Distributors releasing in Telugu?
Mythri Movie Distributors Shashi Garu has seen this movie. He liked the content very much. So Hombale is being released in Karnataka. Cine Police is releasing in North. We feel lucky that such famous companies release the film.
Does this movie have a message?
In this, the hero is a character that will be brought back to dramas. But all this was shown in an entertainment mode rather than telling a message. We have shown Telugu culture and tradition very well in this.
About Anoop Rubens music?
They gave me such a wonderful album in my first film. Thanks to Anoop for this. Ananth Sriram, Bhaskara Bhatla and Vanamali wrote wonderful lyrics. Art director Brahma Kadali garu has done amazing art work taking every detail. Everyone owned the movie and worked for the story.
