On this occasion, Ramya Kumalleti spoke to the media.
Ramya garu… tell me about yourself!
I have been doing ads since childhood. She acted as a child actress in Anushka’s ‘Panchakshari’. She also did a role in Superstar Mahesh Babu’s ‘Spider’. After that I took a gap to study. I finished bachelors and got into films. Instagram has helped to reach people.
How did you get a chance at ‘Maruti Nagar Subramaniam’?
Director Laxman Karya saw me on Instagram. They told the team members to call this girl and audition her. Audition was done after going to the office. They selected me because they liked my performance. I felt happy as I got a good opportunity.
What aspects of the story impressed you?
It’s hard to laugh. If you can make the audience laugh, then the character is ripe. I got a chance to laugh through my role in this. All those who have seen the movie will like my role.
What is your character like?
Bubbly, cute and innocent girl. A little cheesy but lots of laughs. I love doing comedy. Emotions also do well.
Your working experience with Ankit Koya?
Very amazing co actor. A personality that helps a person personally. We saw how he does it as an actor in ‘Ai’. The scenes between the two of us are very good.
How did it feel to share the screen with seniors like Rao Ramesh and Indraja?
I was scared at first. They made sure I was comfortable. One day after the scene, Rao Ramesh said, ‘Well done mom’. After that I got confidence. Indraja doesn’t have much screen space. She is very cute. Very nice human being.
