Gautham Menon Clarifies Controversials

Director Gautham Menon has been under fire recently due to controversial remarks he made regarding Tamil cinema. In a recent interview, Menon stated that Tamil stars are more interested in big-budget films than content-rich ones. This statement stirred considerable debate on social media, with many fans and industry members criticizing the director. However, Menon has now come forward to clarify his comments, explaining that his words were misinterpreted.

The filmmaker addressed the controversy by saying, “It was just a joke that I made, but it was written and interpreted differently.” He also explained that his frustration stemmed from the challenges he faced during the making of his film Enai Noki Paayum Thota, particularly with the second half of the movie. Menon elaborated, saying that while the first half of the film met his vision, he struggled to get the hero’s dates, which led to compromises in the second half of the project.

Menon also pointed out that despite the challenges, he took full responsibility for the film’s production, saying, “If it was produced by someone else, I would have given that statement, but it was me who produced Enai Noki Paayum Thota. Whatever I envisioned was only successfully translated onto the screen in the first half.”

The director concluded by emphasizing that he is not an active participant on social media, and the misunderstanding regarding his statement was unintentional.
