Balakrishna Bhagwant Kesari and Vijay Leo Achieve Stellar Opening Day Success
The box office witnessed a spectacle on its opening day with the much-anticipated releases of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s “Bhagwant Kesari” and Vijay’s “Leo.” These films burst onto the scene with resounding success, ringing the cash registers incessantly. While Balakrishna’s creation showcased commendable performances, it was Vijay’s “Leo” that soared to unprecedented heights, setting a new benchmark for Tamil cinema.
Bhagwant Kesari’s Impressive Inception:
According to official reports from the producers, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s “Bhagwant Kesari” began its theatrical run in grand style, earning a staggering 32.33 crores on the first day. The film gained momentum during the evening, captivating the masses and the discerning audience. The emotionally charged second half and the promising Friday bookings are projected to further elevate its triumph. However, the film witnessed a slower start than anticipated in the USA, as the audience was expecting a more intense, action-packed narrative akin to “Akhanda.”
Leo’s Record-Breaking Triumph:
The dubbed sensation, “Leo,” created ripples across the Telugu states, amassing a phenomenal ₹18-20 crores on its opening day. The Tamil version of the film achieved an unprecedented global milestone by surpassing ₹100 crores in gross revenue solely from its Tamil release, with an additional contribution of 40+ crores from other languages. This extraordinary opening, totaling over 140 crores across all languages, is an astounding accomplishment for Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj. However, the Hindi version of the film failed to achieve its projected success.
With the advantage of an extended weekend and the festivities of Dasara, both “Bhagwant Kesari” and “Leo” are poised for a triumphant run at the box office. The second day and the initial weekend will provide further insights into their overall performance. These remarkable beginnings emphasise the enduring allure of these actors and the fervour of cinema enthusiasts.
