The 2024 Jharkhand Assembly elections have begun. Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s party, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), is once again putting tribal rights and care at the top of its list of priorities.

There is still the question of whether or not the party, which says it speaks for tribal groups, has really made a big difference in their lives during its time in power.

The Hemant Soren government made a lot of promises and plans. Some of the most important ones are the “Abua Awas Yojana” (Our Housing Scheme), land rights, schooling, healthcare, jobs, and land rights. How have these projects helped the tribal community? The BJP has raised concerns about the Abua Awas Yojana in particular and has said that the JMM government is crooked and doesn’t work well.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is part of the BJP’s Jharkhand office, said, “The Jharkhand government’s Abua Awas Yojana has turned into a Babu Awas Yojana.” He was critical of the plan. No one can get a house without paying a fee.

The Abua Awas Yojana’s Goals and Reality

More than 2.5 million people in Jharkhand were offered permanent housing through the Abua Awas Yojana, which began on August 15, 2023. People who qualified were promised a three-room house for ₹2 lakh. The main goal was to provide safe, cheap housing for tribal groups. On the ground, though, things look very bad. Reports say that tribal beneficiaries often face problems, such as having to pay bribes to get the benefits of the plan.

The government says that thousands of tribal families have been given homes through the program, but there isn’t much information available about this. The government website doesn’t give clear numbers on finished homes.

The government has promised that all homeless and at-risk families will have a place to live by 2026. Still, there are doubts about how many homes have been built so far.

Corruption and Claims of Bad Management

The Abua Awas Yojana is having a hard time getting things done because of corruption. A lot of tribal families say they had to pay bribes to village leaders, local officials, and contractors to get their housing funds approved or for building to go faster. For those who depend on these payments, growth stops, leaving them in the lurch.

Reports from the ground show that many native families are unhappy. They say they have to go through long bureaucratic processes and pay bribes at every step. Even though the government says the plan is quick and effective, it hasn’t had much of an effect so far because of corruption and inefficient administration that make its goals impossible to reach.

Administrative wrongdoing and breach of rights

There have also been claims of poor management of the Abua Awas Yojana. There is almost no transparency, and people who benefit from the plan often complain that they don’t have enough information about it. Many people have to wait a long time because there is too much paperwork and red tape. This not only goes against their rights, but it also shows that the government can’t keep its promises.

Is Hemant Soren’s government really giving tribal communities power?

His government, led by Hemant Soren, has often talked about plans to help local people. On the other hand, these vows have not been kept. Instead of getting benefits, tribal groups are often forced into situations where they have to pay bribes to get what they are entitled to. A lot of people in the tribe areas are now disappointed and angry about this.

People are not just criticizing the Abua Awas Yojana. They are also criticizing strategies for taking land and programs that help people find jobs. A lot of tribe families think that the government has made their problems worse instead of fixing them.

Tribal communities are becoming more and more unhappy.

Discontent among tribal communities has increased under the Hemant Soren government, with unmet demands and unfulfilled promises leading to protests and demonstrations. Many feel that the government has failed to uphold their rights and is exploiting their issues for political gain.

Effects of Politics on the Jharkhand Elections

If these problems aren’t fixed before the Jharkhand polls, they will have a big impact on how JMM does. Will tribal groups continue to see JMM as their voice, or will they see it as just another political tool that didn’t work? The election results will show how well the party did at listening to tribal worries and keeping its promises.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are coming up soon, and the media say that the Mahayuti party will win easily and return to power. In its election platform, the coalition run by the Shinde government made a lot of big promises. For example, it promised to give women a lot more money and help farmers.

The Ladki Behen Scheme, which was first presented by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar during the last budget session, is a key part of Mahayuti’s campaign. The plan used to give eligible women ₹1,500 a month, but now it gives them ₹2,100 a month. This shows a stronger commitment to giving women in Maharashtra more power. The improved plan is meant to get more support, but opposition parties have said it’s just a way to get people to vote for them.

Loan waivers are good news for farmers.

The Mahayuti plan also talks a lot about farmers. The coalition has stated that all loans will be forgiven to help farmers who are having trouble making ends meet. Many farmers are happy about this promise, which gives them hope about possible assistance measures if Mahayuti wins.

Criticism from the opposition and popular opinion

Some opposition groups say Mahayuti’s promises are unrealistic and just empty words, but most people don’t agree. Some people say the alliance might not keep its financial promises, but these claims haven’t made people less confident. Many people in the state, especially women and farmers, still believe that Mahayuti will keep its promises if it wins again.

The election outlook

As election day gets closer, people are getting more excited about Mahayuti’s possible win. A lot of people are hopeful because the alliance is focusing on development that benefits everyone, especially women and farmers through programs. Soon, we’ll know if this positive mood leads to election success, which will determine Maharashtra’s political future.

The Maharashtra assembly elections are coming up soon, and the Mahavikas Aghadi and Mahayuti groups are making a lot of different claims. Congress’s platform includes big plans for helping people, like giving women Ђ3,000 a month and not charging them for farm loans.

In order to gain voters’ trust, the party has been showing similar programs used in states that are controlled by Congress in ads. To these claims, the BJP has responded by pointing out what it calls the “collapse” of social programs in Karnataka and Telangana while the Congress was in power.

The Anna Bhagya Yojana, which said that 1.15 crore people would get 10 kg of free rice, has also not been mostly kept. Reports say that people who qualify are getting rice through the national Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana and not the state-run program.

A transport company is in trouble because of the Shakti Yojana.

The Karnataka State Transport Corporation is said to be in financial trouble because of the Shakti Yojana, which lets women ride the bus for free. It is said that the government cut back on bus routes and pushed back drivers’ and operators’ pay to keep the plan going. Diesel shortages have made things even worse, which has led Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to think about reducing the program.

Recruitment Held Up and Unhappy Youth
Congress in Karnataka promised ₹3,000 to graduates who are out of work and ₹1,500 to diploma students, but these promises have not been kept because of a lack of money. People looking for work are also getting more and more frustrated because it takes too long for government jobs to be filled. BJP leaders also say that funds meant to help SC and ST groups and other disadvantaged groups have been taken elsewhere, leaving important aid programs unfinished.

Karnataka’s Problems Can Be Seen in Telangana
Similar claims of broken promises are made against Congress in Telangana. Ten months into the government’s term, the Mahalakshmi Yojana, which promised women ₹2,500 a month, still hasn’t come true. Newlywed women could get 10 grams of gold and ₹1 lakh through the Kalyan Lakshmi Yojana, but the process has been very slow, and thousands of applications are still being checked. The Telangana High Court has even noticed that the government hasn’t given out promised perks.

Other plans, such as Griha Jyoti, Raitu Bharvasa (which gives farmers ₹15,000 per acre), and Yuva Vikas Yojana, have also had trouble going beyond paper. The Congress’s promise to forgive ₹2 lakh in farming loans is said to have only touched 40% of the people it meant to.

The BJP’s Other Side of the Story in Maharashtra
The leaders of the BJP in Maharashtra have gone on the attack against the Congress party, saying that it is making “hollow promises.” They say that these aid programs are making it hard for states run by Congress to pay for basic government because they cost so much. Leaders of the BJP say that the same things could go wrong in Maharashtra if Congress’s claims are carried out without planning for money.

As people in Maharashtra get ready to cast their votes, the focus is still on how well each party’s claims match up with its past actions. With both alliances vying for public trust, the outcome will hinge on which narrative resonates more with the electorate: Congress’ vision of welfare or BJP’s claims of fiscal prudence and governance.

Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi have both introduced their manifestos in the context of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections.

The Mahayuti has prioritized the comparison of its tenure with that of the Maha Vikas Aghadi in public, while both parties have made numerous promises.

Mahayuti leaders are asserting that they have outperformed the Maha Vikas Aghadi in all facets. Conversely, it has been asserted that the Mahayuti’s tenure was marked by a greater amount of development work than that of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, with the former being credited with bringing about a “development revolution” after engaging with numerous individuals.

In addition, there are numerous individuals who contend that the Mahayuti has outperformed the Maha Vikas Aghadi in all aspects when contrasting the two alliances.

The Mahayuti Government has expedited the implementation of numerous initiatives.

In June 2022, the Mahayuti administration was established under the leadership of Eknath Shinde. This government has developed and executed a variety of initiatives in the state over the past two and a half years. Eligible women beneficiaries are receiving ₹1,500 per month under the ‘Mazi Ladki Bahin’ program.

In addition, the government has announced the ‘Annapurana Yojana’, which provides three free cylinders annually to women, the ‘Ladki Laxmi’ scheme, and free higher education for females. As per the public’s assertion, no such initiatives were implemented to promote women’s welfare during the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s tenure.

Programs for Young People and Farmers
The central government implemented the “Kisan Samman Yojana” to provide farmers with ₹500 per month in order to empower them. An additional ₹500 was provided by the state government to the Mahayuti government. Additional programs for farmers were instituted, including crop insurance at ₹1, agricultural electricity bill exemptions, and free electricity. A provision of ₹14,000 crore was allocated for the provision of complimentary electricity.

The youth were provided with educational research and training through the implementation of a variety of initiatives, including ‘On-the-Job Training’, ‘Sarthi’, and ‘Barti’. The ‘Ladki Bhau’ initiative will provide assistance to more than 10 lakh youthful individuals. The Mahayuti government also resolved to offer facilities to young people from other communities through a variety of corporations. A decision was reached to increase the pension amount for senior citizens.

Recruitment for 75,000 government positions

The recruitment of government employees is a critical issue for the younger generation. The Mahayuti government has recruited for 75,000 government positions over the past two years.

The honorarium for Anganwadi workers, agricultural workers, and Gram Rozgar Sevaks has been increased, and a pension scheme that is preferred by government employees has been implemented. During its tenure, the Mahayuti government successfully recruited 18,000 police constables.

Establishing One Million Entrepreneurs

The ‘Annasaheb Patil Economic Development Corporation’ was empowered by the Mahayuti government to empower the Maratha community while working in the employment sector. This initiative resulted in the creation of over one lakh entrepreneurs. The initial Mahayuti government also resolved to establish a distinct ministry for the differently-abled. Numerous job fairs have presented employment opportunities to thousands of youthful individuals.

New Health Sector Facilities

The Mahayuti administration, under the leadership of Eknath Shinde, initiated the ‘Balasaheb Thackeray Aapla Dawakhana’ scheme in the health sector. This initiative began by providing free medical check-ups at hundreds of health centers. Furthermore, the insurance coverage was increased from ₹1.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh under the ‘Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana’, thereby facilitating the treatment of critical diseases for the underprivileged. In addition, the Mahayuti government resolved to establish ten additional medical colleges during its tenure.

The Dharavi Redevelopment Project is gaining momentum.

The advancement of any state is contingent upon the development of its infrastructure. The Mahayuti government has made substantial judgments regarding the development of ports, railway facilities, highways, and roads. Some examples are the ‘Atal Setu’ and ‘Mumbai Metro-3’ projects. Additionally, the government has expedited the redevelopment of Dharavi, which was previously referred to as Asia’s largest ghetto. The tender process has been finalized, and the chosen company has initiated the survey of the settlements.

A nine percent increase in foreign direct investment

The Mahayuti government has published a report that compares its tenure to that of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, thereby demonstrating its advancement. The state’s GDP growth rate was 1.9% during the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s tenure, while the Mahayuti government achieved a rate of 8.5%. Maharashtra received 26.83% of India’s total Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) during the Maha Vikas Aghadi era; however, this percentage increased to 37% during the Mahayuti government. Although the Maha Vikas Aghadi constructed 6.57 lakh houses for the impoverished, the Mahayuti government asserts that it has constructed 10.52 lakh houses.

Mahayuti’s Dual Assistance in Natural Disasters

The primary objective of the ‘Shabari Adivasi Gharakula Yojana’ is to construct housing for the tribal community. A total of ₹447 crore was approved for 18,119 houses during the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s tenure, while the Mahayuti government sanctioned ₹771 crore for 1.25 lakh homes. The Maha Vikas Aghadi government provided ₹8,701 crore in aid to farmers in response to natural disasters, while the Mahayuti government increased this amount to ₹16,309 crore. The Mahayuti government also allocated ₹28,811 crore to self-help groups in rural areas, which is nearly double the amount allocated by the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.

More than double the number of job fairs in comparison to Maha Vikas Aghadi

The Maha Vikas Aghadi approved ₹2,718 crore under the ‘Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Swadhar Yojana’, which the Mahayuti government subsequently increased to ₹4,108 crore. Under the Mahayuti government, the number of MSME units, which are essential for employment generation, increased by 77% from an average of 8.10 lakh during the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s tenure to 14.41 lakh. Job festivals have been the primary focus of the Mahayuti government in order to generate employment. The Mahayuti government conducted 1,138 job fairs and provided employment to 151,000 youth, while the Maha Vikas Aghadi organized 396 job fairs and employed 36,000 youth, according to their report card.

The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana was started on June 28, 2014, by the Mahayuti government. Its goal is to improve the economic situation of women in Maharashtra.

Women between the ages of 21 and 65 are eligible to a monthly stipend of Rs 1,500. This helps them become financially independent.

Even though the plan has been widely praised—2.5 crore women have applied—there is some disagreement about how long it will last. Some people are worried about how to pay for it, but the government has responded by including Rs. 46,000 crore in the state budget, showing that they are committed to the plan.

Getting women to be financially independent
For many women, the plan has made a real difference in their lives. A lot of people have put their money into schooling or business. For example, a woman started a clothes business with Rs 7,500 and quickly doubled her money, making it worth Rs 15,000. With the scheme’s financial help, another recipient started a sewing business, showing how the help actually worked.

Stories of freedom and business success
People who have benefited from the plan, like a local woman who sells clothes, have openly praised it, saying that it helped her start her own retail business. “I am truly thankful to the Mahayuti government for this opportunity,” she said, pointing out how important the plan was to her becoming independent. The money was used by another woman to grow her business, giving her a lot more money than she had before. Her store was called Aditya Cloth Center.

These stories show that the plan not only helped individual women but also encouraged them to start their own businesses.

The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana pushes women to start their own businesses by giving them money. This makes them less reliant on other people.

This project not only gives women more power, but it also makes them more useful to society by encouraging them to be self-reliant and take part in the economy across Maharashtra.

The All India Ulema Board (AIUB) made big news when they released a list of 17 requests against the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. This happened during a very tense political period in India. The requests include financial help and dropping of charges against Muslim youths. They come at a time when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is strongly blaming the Congress of favoring Muslims too much. According to the BJP, Congress policies in the past have been too friendly to Muslim interests, often putting them ahead of the needs of other groups. There are arguments going on about the role of faith in politics, the balance of power in India’s democratic system, and the chase of vote-bank politics because of this ongoing political play.

What the Ulema Board Really Wants
The 17 requests made by the All India Ulema Board show how the MVA alliance and its critics are becoming more and more angry with each other. The main thing the Ulema Board wants is big financial and political changes. They want a huge Rs. 1000 crore fund for the Maharashtra Waqf Board, charges of rioting against Muslim youth from 2012 to 2024 to be dropped, and imams and muftinas to get Rs. 15,000 every month. They have also asked that Muslim youth be hired as police officers and that members of the Ulema Board be put on government groups.

One of the most controversial requests is that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) be banned and Hindu guru Ramgiri Maharaj be jailed. This is because of the RSS’s nationalist views and its claimed part in stopping people from switching from Hinduism to Islam. Many people see these requests as a clear attempt to get political power, especially in the Muslim community, in exchange for backing the MVA.

Criticism and Allegations from the BJP
These requests couldn’t come at a more important time, since they happen at the same time that the BJP is accusing the Congress of supporting Muslim interests over those of other groups. The BJP says that the Congress party, which has been led by Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, has always put the needs of Muslims ahead of those of other groups, even when it meant ignoring those needs.

This claim is often supported by past examples of Congress leaders being seen as supporting policies and actions that were seen as good for Muslims. For example, Hindu nationalist groups often spoke out against Mahatma Gandhi’s calls for Muslim unity and Nehru’s support for the Congress’s tolerance. They felt left out by these policies. The BJP also doesn’t like the Congress’s views on things like triple talaq, the fact that Muslim women don’t have the right to alimony, and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s controversial claim that Muslims should get most of the country’s resources.

Additionally, the BJP has brought up Congress’s plans to give the Waqf Board more power, which has caused a lot of debate, especially in places like North Karnataka where the board’s control over land and property has been a point of contention.

The support of the Ulema Board and the MVA’s political calculations
The MVA alliance hasn’t agreed to all of the Ulema Board’s requests yet, but there are more and more signs that the party is trying to win over the Board in order to get Muslim votes in the next election. People say that the Ulema Board and the MVA worked together, which is called “vote jihad.” This is a term some people use to describe how religious groups are used politically to gain an edge in elections.

People got a lot of attention when a letter, purportedly from Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was passed around supporting the Ulema Board’s requests. But this was quickly rejected by both the MVA and the NCP, which made things even more complicated. Even though they denied it, the incident made things worse and led to a lot of talk about the importance of religion in politics and whether the MVA is trying to gain support from Muslim religious leaders in order to win elections.

Responses from the public and a social media frenzy
The appearance of these requests has caused a huge public discussion, especially on social media, where people have very different views on the matter. Some people who support the Ulema Board say that their demands are a fair reaction to how the Muslim community has been ignored and left out in the past. Others, however, say that these demands cause division and go against India’s long-standing tradition of secularism.

On the one hand, some people see the Muslim community’s requests for money, political participation, and social aid measures like imams’ stipends as valid ways to help them deal with their social and economic problems. As for the Ulema Board’s requests that the RSS be banned and Ramgiri Maharaj be jailed, many people say that they are making ridiculous demands that are making things worse between communities.

What this means for politics in general: Is secularism under attack?
An important question about the nature of Indian democracy and tolerance lies at the heart of this debate. Its Constitution says that everyone is equal before the law and that the country will be neutral, meaning that it will not favor one religion over another. But some critics say that these basic ideas are being weakened by the fact that faith groups and leaders are getting more involved in politics.

The BJP is especially worried about how the MVA alliance seems to want to put the needs of Muslim leaders ahead of those of other groups, especially Hindus. They think that this could make other groups feel uncomfortable. The party has long said that equality should be a fair concept, not one that fits the needs of a certain faith group.

This debate shows how difficult it is for Indian political parties to find a balance in a country where religious loyalty and political loyalty are often very closely linked. The MVA’s efforts to make the Ulema Board happy may be smart from a political point of view, but they could make religious differences worse and hurt the country’s secular structure.

The End: A Nation at a Crossroads
The requests made by the All India Ulema Board are a good example of the bigger problems India’s government is facing right now. India is struggling with the different demands of democracy values, community-based politics, and religion. The political choices made in the next few years will have a big impact on the country’s ability to keep its society together and uphold equal rights under the law.

There is still no word on whether the MVA’s work with the Ulema Board will have real political effects or make things worse between Indians. We can be sure that the talk in India about religion, politics, and government will continue to change. As the country gets ready for future elections, the demands of religious groups like the Ulema Board will become even more important.

Hyderabad: BRS President and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao said on Saturday that there is no doubt about Bharat Rashtra Samiti party returning to power. Speaking at the Erravalli farmhouse, he said that in the last 11 months, people have seen the Congress government and everywhere they are saying that they will come to power again. “When we were in power, we did not say let’s throw this person out, let’s throw that person in jail. We are focused on working for the people, uplifting the downtrodden and providing opportunities to such people to improve their lives,” said KCR.

He addressed party leaders and activists led by former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao in his farmhouse. “The role of government is to work for all, to undertake constructive activities. You all see how the people in power are talking now,” he said. Chandrasekhar Rao said that people have realized what they have lost in the last 11 months. “Government should work for the people and not adopt a bully attitude,” he said. “We have delivered 90 per cent more than what we promised in our manifesto. We have made long-term plans for all-round development of all sections,” KCR said.

Pointing out the growing unrest in various sections of the society and the frequent protests against the ruling Congress, KCR expressed confidence that the BRS would come back to power and that people had immense faith in the party. He said that it has been 11 months since the formation of the new government and people have realized what they have lost. He assured the BRS leaders that people are closely watching the current situation and there is no need to worry as people have immense faith in the party.

Expressing full confidence that BRS will come back to power in Telangana, Chandrasekhar Rao emphasized that governance is not words but actions. Questioning whether the responsibility given by the people is for the sake of service.. or to waste time with words, the former chief minister reminded that BRS has implemented more than 90 percent of the promises in its manifesto and has also implemented unsolicited schemes. More importantly, Chandrasekhar Rao assured the party members that there is no need to fear illegal cases, arrests and other threats against the backdrop of attacks on BRS leaders, police abetment, and cases against party leaders and cadres. With KCR’s comments, there was a jolt in the ranks of BRS.

A lot of people are upset about what minister Irfan Ansari is said to have said about BJP star Sita Soren before the Jharkhand assembly elections. Many people are against the comments, which were supposedly made after Ansari filed his papers to run for the Jamtara seat. When Sita Soren, who is running against Irfan Ansari, talked about what happened, she started to cry.

Backfilling the Job “Mr. Ansari has been after me ever since I said I was running for this seat.” But the insulting things he said after he filed his bid are wrong and hurtful to the women in the tribal community. “The people in the tribe will never forgive him for this,” she said, shaking her head. Shibu Soren’s oldest son, Durga Soren, is married to Sita Soren.

Earlier this year, Sita Soren joined the BJP after a fight with her family over the chief minister’s job. Shibu Soren’s younger son Hemant Soren quit his job and was later jailed in a money laundering case, which led to this mess. Nawada MP Vivek Thakur of the BJP, who was with her, tried to comfort her when she started to cry.

When the Congress leader said those things, Thakur said they were wrong and that the BJP would hold protests all over the state, not just in Jamtara. When Mr. Ansari spoke out on October 26, 2024, the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) took note and sent a warning to the Jharkhand government, asking for a report within three days.

Alka Lamba, the head of the Mahila Congress, spoke out against Ansari’s views, saying that they have no place in political conversation. Lamba said that legal action was needed and pointed out that strict rules have been put in place by Congress governments in several states to fight crimes against women. “Crime should be seen as crime, no matter who is inside or outside the party,” she said. All sorts of rules have been made by the Congress government after the Nirbhaya incident if you have said something rude or hurt someone physically.

The comments were strongly condemned by Lamba, who also said, “We never support this.” This speech is wrong and against the law, no matter who said it—Irfan Ansari, someone else, a woman from any party. We want the law to be used against them. She also said that the Congress party would make sure that the case was handled fairly and that the person responsible would be punished when a new government was formed. The Jharkhand BJP filed a complaint with the Election Commission against Ansari because of the controversy.

They said he insulted both the tribal group and widows in the state with his comments. The BJP’s protest asked the commission to stop Ansari from submitting his nomination and asked for him to be charged with a crime. It’s important to note that the Congress party has often said it supports women’s rights. However, leaders of the party have said some very controversial things that have caused a lot of worry. Some party leaders don’t seem to respect the rights and dignity of women and instead just see them as a vote bank, according to observers.

The party supports the slogan “I am a girl, I can fight,” but it seems to still be stuck in the idea that “she is a girl, so I can say anything.” The Jharkhand BJP went after Hemant Soren and said, “Hemant Soren, it is shameful that you support people who speak so badly about an Adivasi woman who is your sister-in-law and the wife of your late elder brother.” How can someone protect the rights of the daughters and sisters of Jharkhand if they can’t protect the honor of their sister-in-law?” Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is in charge of elections for the BJP in Jharkhand, said, “Those who run a shop of love are merchants of hatred.” Every day, they talk badly about moms, sisters, and kids.

“Respect for an Adivasi woman is not important to him; getting votes is,” said Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also in charge of elections. “Hemant Soren has lost his voice about the insult to his sister-in-law.”

It’s not the first time that leaders in Congress have said bad things about women. Several Congress leaders, from Rahul Gandhi to Digvijaya Singh, have said hurtful things about women in the past. During the 2024 elections for the Haryana Assembly, the party was criticized for similar comments made by Congress leaders and campaigners. One Congress MP, Jay Prakash, used bad language. Things got so bad that Bhupender Singh Hooda, the leader of the opposition, had to make some explanations. Rahul Gandhi said something controversial about star Aishwarya Rai in the Lok Sabha.

He said that the media pay more attention to her dancing than to farmers and workers. During the Bharat Jodo Justice Yatra in Varanasi, he said, “These media houses are owned by Adani and Ambani, and they never show how bad things are for the poor.” In 2013, Digvijaya Singh, who used to be the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, said that Congress MP Meenakshi Natarajan was “100% genuine.” When the comment caused a stir, he made it clear that he meant to compliment her by calling her “pure gold.” In the past, Sheila Dikshit, who was Chief Minister of Delhi, said that “girls should not be too adventurous” and should dress modestly. Some people didn’t like what Congress leader Abhijit Mukherjee said when he called the women protesting the 2012 gang rape in Delhi “well-groomed women who know nothing about reality.”

During a TV debate in 2012, Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam said mean things about Smriti Irani. He said, “Yesterday you were dancing for money, and today you are teaching politics.” Kiran Chaudhary, the head of the Haryana Congress, said, “Women should stay home and take care of the kids.” This meant that women had fewer rights to work and more freedoms. Radhika Khera was one of the Congress women leaders who quit the party because she thought women in the party were not treated fairly. These statements show that the Congress party doesn’t take women’s problems seriously. Not only do they show disrespect for women, but they also show that the party needs to change the way it thinks. If the Congress party wants to support women’s rights and equality, its leaders need to change what they say and how they think. If not, these scandals will do a lot of damage to the party’s reputation. As seen with Sita Soren, these comments by congressional leaders are part of a long-term pattern in which they say hurtful things about women and then try to lessen the problems by saying sorry or giving reasons.

At first, Irfan Ansari said hurtful things, but when things got worse, he asked for forgiveness. The head of the All India Mahila Congress, Alka Lamba, said that the party does not agree with any controversial comments or statements, including those made by Irfan Ansari. She also stressed that something should be done about this. With the model code of conduct for the Jharkhand elections still in force, the party will think about what it can do about the incident.

The Sahara Group used to be a major player in India’s business world. It was known for having a wide range of businesses, including airplanes, media, and real estate. That being said, the group’s image took a big hit when its chit fund scheme, which promised millions of low-income Indians better returns, caused a huge scandal. Many investors were left out in the cold because of the scandal, which led to a series of court and political fights that are still going on today.

How the Sahara Group rose and fell The Group of Sahara

A plan called chit funds gave millions of Indians the chance to invest small amounts of money every day in the hopes of a stable future. Small payments of 10 to 100 rupees made it possible for people with less money to use it. But when the group didn’t return the money that was spent, things got worse, and the Supreme Court told Sahara to give back Rs 24,000 crore to investors. Because of this decision and the fact that the group kept not meeting its responsibilities, Subrata Roy, who was chairman of Sahara at the time, was arrested on March 4, 2014. His jail time was the start of the group’s steady fall.

Claims and Examination

In addition to having money problems, Sahara was also accused of not following the rules set by the government. It became clearer what the scheme was all about when the National Housing Bank got a letter supposedly from Roshan Lal, a whistleblower, saying that Sahara’s real estate and housing companies were issuing bonds that did not follow the rules.

This made the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) look into it. Subrata Roy said in public that his company was getting too much attention after saying that India’s Prime Minister is not from Italy. He said that these words were the reason why the government was paying more attention to his business.

Political interference and the hopes of investors

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) stepped in and told Sahara India Financial Corporation it couldn’t take deposits and had to return investors’ money in 2008. This made Sahara’s financial problems even worse. This happened after it was said that the UPA government had ignored the company’s plans, letting them grow and scam millions of poor investors. Nevertheless, when the Modi government came to power, things seemed to get better for the businesses.

BJP’s Promise to Give Back Every Penny Before the Jharkhand polls

the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made a big promise: they would return all the money that investors in Sahara’s chit fund put in. There is now a clear way for buyers to ask for refunds within a certain amount of time. A strong stance from the BJP on this topic could be very important in the upcoming elections, and many people see it as a momentous change for the party.

As the Jharkhand Assembly elections get closer, the JMM coalition government led by Hemant Soren is getting a lot of attention because of claims that test papers were leaked and there were problems at the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). There is a lot of anger because more and more people say that the administration’s lack of dedication to exam safety has put the future of the state’s kids at risk. Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently criticized how the JMM government handled the situation in Jharkhand. He also stated that if the BJP wins, they would set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

SIT’s promise to deal with exam scandals

Amit Shah made the alleged wrongdoing sound very bad by saying, “More than 11 exam papers were leaked, but Hemant Babu is staying quiet because the people who did it are his close friends.” We will put together a SIT and make sure that the people who caused these leaks go to jail. His words make the BJP’s promise to work for openness and responsibility even stronger, especially since the Soren government’s reaction is getting more and more negative reviews.

Some people aren’t sure about how the Soren government handles exam security.

People don’t trust Jharkhand’s hiring process as much as they did before the wave of paper leaks. Some people say that the Soren government’s actions are questionable because they are focused on fixing the problems that caused the leaks instead of taking strong steps to stop them. People have made comparisons with other states that have taken strict steps to protect the integrity of exams, which has made people think that Jharkhand’s method is lacking.

When this happened, candidates and their families expected action to be taken quickly and someone to be held responsible. But the public’s anger has grown as the leaks have not been fixed quickly enough. People are more likely to think that the administration tried to downplay the problem to protect the government’s image instead of putting transparency first. Calls for accountability have not been answered, which has made the youth who are touched unhappy with the process. As a result of not being held accountable, people who want to work for the government feel cheated.

Many people say that the state’s weak response to the test leaks hurts not only the chances of young candidates but also the credibility of the hiring process. Because of these events, many people want an outside or court investigation because trust in the state’s own investigations keeps going down.

As opposition leaders and the public put more pressure on the Hemant Soren government, it will have to work hard to recover faith in Jharkhand’s process for exams and hiring people.
