Terrific performer and celebrated actress Anushka Shetty is poised to captivate audiences once again with her upcoming film, “Ghaati,” directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. After a hiatus of nearly two years from the silver screen, Anushka’s return is highly anticipated by her fans. The film, an intense action-crime drama, is now slated for a theatrical release on July 11, 2025.
According to an exclusive report by Deccan Chronicle, the non-theatrical rights (including digital, satellite, and audio rights) for this raw and intense entertainer have been reportedly sold for a staggering Rs. 36 crores. This figure is being touted as a record price for a women-centric film in Tollywood. Amazon Prime Video has reportedly acquired the digital streaming rights, while Aditya Music has secured the audio rights.
The report further highlights that while female-centric films typically have a limited reach in theatres and on OTT platforms, “Ghaati” appears to be a significant exception, defying this trend. Producers are reportedly in advanced discussions to finalize the theatrical rights for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for over Rs. 12 crores, ensuring a profitable pre-release recovery for the movie, which has a total budget of Rs. 45 crore.
Currently in its post-production stage, “Ghaati” features Anushka Shetty in a compelling dual-shaded role as a weed trader, portraying both a victim and a criminal. Kollywood actor Vikram Prabhu also plays a crucial role in the film. Jointly produced by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainments, the movie boasts music by Nagavelli Vidya Sagar, promising an impactful cinematic experience.
