In a bid to offer relief to consumers, Amul, the largest milk producer in India, has announced a Rs. 1 discount on its popular milk products – Amul Fresh, Amul Gold, and Amul Tea Special. This price reduction will be applicable across the country immediately, as confirmed by the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) Managing Director Jayen Mehta on Friday. However, it is important to note that this discount is applicable only to the liter-sized packets of these milk products.
The price reductions will bring some ease to customers amid rising milk costs. The price of Amul Tea Special milk per liter has been reduced from Rs. 62 to Rs. 61. Similarly, the price of Amul Fresh milk will now be Rs. 53 per liter, down from Rs. 54. Amul Gold, another popular variant, will now cost Rs. 65 per liter, down from Rs. 66.
This decision comes after a price hike by Amul in June of the previous year, where milk prices were increased by Rs. 2 per liter. The recent Rs. 1 price cut aims to provide some relief to milk consumers across the country and help maintain affordability.
The reduction in prices is part of Amul’s ongoing efforts to ensure the best quality milk and dairy products are accessible to a wide range of consumers, while also responding to market demands.
