Abhishek Sharma has a Rare Record as the Second Indian Batsman

Team India’s young opener, Abhishek Sharma, delivered a sensational performance in the first T20 match against England at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The left-handed batter played a stormy innings, smashing 79 runs off just 34 balls, helping India chase down 133 runs in just 12.5 overs with 3 wickets in hand. His aggressive batting display included 8 sixes and 5 fours, leaving fans in awe.

Abhishek’s half-century (50) came in just 20 balls, making him the second-fastest Indian to score a fifty against England in T20 cricket. The record for the fastest fifty against England still belongs to Yuvraj Singh, who achieved the feat in just 12 balls during the 2007 T20 World Cup. Interestingly, Abhishek considers Yuvraj his mentor, making this achievement even more special.

In addition to this record, Abhishek Sharma also became the third Indian player to hit the most sixes (8) in a T20 match. The talented batter made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe last year, grabbing attention with a century in his very first match. However, his form dipped in subsequent games. With his explosive innings against England, he has once again proved his potential.

So far, Abhishek Sharma has amassed 335 runs in 13 T20 internationals, maintaining an average of 27.91 and an impressive strike rate of 183.06. If he continues this aggressive form, he could become one of India’s most valuable T20 players in the coming years.
