Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has once again commented on his long-standing differences with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, reigniting discussions about their fallout. The two collaborated on iconic tracks during the 1990s and early 2000s, but haven’t worked together since Billu (2009), where Abhijeet sang the reprise version of Khudaya Khair.
Abhijeet’s Comments on Shah Rukh Khan Music Choices
In a recent interview with Bollywood Thikana, Abhijeet made a pointed remark about Shah Rukh’s involvement in music production, saying:
“If he can produce films, he can also make and sing his own songs. Why not? After all, people call my tracks ‘Shah Rukh Khan’s songs.’”
Abhijeet further commented on the state of their relationship, emphasizing that while there isn’t a direct fight, online trolls and misunderstandings have exacerbated the situation. Referring to Shah Rukh’s Lungi Dance from Chennai Express, Abhijeet expressed disapproval of the shift in musical style, hinting that such songs wouldn’t have existed without their differences.
Fallout Between the Two
Abhijeet previously spoke to Pinkvilla about his fallout with Shah Rukh, describing the disconnect as emotional rather than professional. He stated:
“Shah Rukh knows I’ve been hurt. Although we don’t share a close bond, he is well aware of my feelings.”
The singer acknowledged that their personalities align in many ways, yet their collaboration dynamics changed over time. Abhijeet hinted that while Shah Rukh remains a star, his approach has sometimes felt distant or overly theatrical.
Memorable Collaborations
The duo’s partnership spanned several blockbuster films, delivering iconic tracks such as:
- Baadshah O Baadshah (Baadshah)
- Chalte Chalte Mere Yeh Geet (Chalte Chalte)
- Main Hoon Na (Main Hoon Na)
- Suno Na Suno Na (Chalte Chalte)
- Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha (Main Hoon Na)
Their last successful collaboration was for Om Shanti Om (2007), after which their paths diverged.
The Future of Collaboration
While Abhijeet has clarified he holds no grudges, his remarks suggest a low probability of a reunion with Shah Rukh Khan. For now, fans can only hope the two legends might reconcile and recreate the magic of their earlier collaborations.
