Lok Sabha elections were held in the country this year. 61.39 percent votes were lost in Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra. If we look at the voting percentage of the assembly elections held in 2019, 61.4 percent voting was recorded.

People voted enthusiastically during the state assembly elections this year. The political parties were in a state of excitement as the voting took place at a record level. All political parties are confident about their achievements.

Many big personalities, politicians and political party workers in Maharashtra have urged people to exercise their right to vote. At the same time, many praised the Election Commission for making elaborate arrangements at the polling stations.

According to the information shared by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the voting percentage data up to 11:45 pm on Wednesday revealed that Kolhapur had the highest voter turnout among the 36 districts of the state. Around 76.25 percent of people cast their vote here. There are total ten assembly constituencies in Kolhapur. Meanwhile, 73.68 percent voting was recorded in Gadchiroli and 72.30 percent in Jalna. However, Mumbai City district, which has 10 assembly constituencies, recorded the lowest polling of 52.07 percent.

On the other hand, the Election Commission said that in view of the low voter turnout in the urban areas of Maharashtra during the last Assembly and Parliament elections, special attention has been paid to remove urban apathy.

For this, the Election Commission has set up more than 1,185 polling stations in high-rise buildings and residential societies. As per the instructions of CEC Rajeev Kumar, necessary facilities like benches and wheelchairs have been provided to the voters waiting at the polling stations. It is noteworthy that many awareness and public movement programs were undertaken before the assembly elections. Many celebrities participated in the campaign. The main objective of this campaign is to encourage urban and young voters to participate in voting, but the turnout has been low.
