Maharashtra Assembly Elections.. BJP has released the first list of candidates

BJP has released the first list of candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections today. This list contains the names of 99 candidates. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will contest from Nagpur South West Vidhan Sabha seat. Sanjay Mukand Kelkar will contest from Thane assembly seat. Ravindra Dattatreya Chavan was selected as the candidate from Dombivali. Vidya Jaiprakash Thakur was selected as the Goregaon candidate. Nitish Narayan Rane will contest from Kankavali assembly seat. Chhatrapati Shivendra Raje Bhosale was given ticket from Karad South.

Devendra Fadnavis has been winning from Nagpur South West seat for the last three times i.e. 2009, 2014 and 2019 assembly elections. BJP state president Chandrasekhar Bawankule will contest from Kamathi.

It is noteworthy that BJP has highlighted the names of women in this list. The party has given ticket to Meghna Bordikar from Jintur assembly seat. Seematai Mahesh Gire was given ticket from Nashik West. Elections to 288 Assembly constituencies in Maharashtra will be held on November 20.

It is said that BJP can contest in 155 seats, Shiv Sena in 78 seats and NCP in 55 seats. The Mahayuti alliance also plans to recruit allies to maintain social and caste equality in the state. In the 2019 elections, BJP won 164 seats. The then undivided Shiv Sena won 124 seats. Nominations in Maharashtra will begin on October 22 and end on October 29. Last date for withdrawal of nomination is November 4, voting date is November 20. Result date is November 23.
